  1. The easiest way is to go HDMI from the xbox to your receiver and then out to the TV if your receiver supports HDMI switching.

If your receiver does not do HDMI switching, then there are several other ways but I am not familiar enough with xbox to make a specifics recc.

However, I would imagine that RGB out for video directly to your tv and optical digitial out to your receiver would do the trick.  HDMI to TV and optical out to receiver may work as well but a live HDMI out may disable the optical out on the xbox. Again, I just dont know enough about xbox to know for sure.

  2. HDMI from Xbox to TV, optical cable from Xbox to receiver to get surround sound.

  3. You can go several ways with this, and I know they all work...

    1) HDMI Audio receiver can intercept the audio going from the XBox to the TV set.

    2) The audio output dongle that comes with the 360 does work when HDMI is active, just make sure you have the audio output set to optical and not HDMI.

    3) Digital audio output on your TV will pass a 5.1 signal to your surround receiver.
