Hi,

I have a 37" JVC LCD 1080p television, and I would like to get a theatre system for it that has a dvd player, receiver/tuner, and speakers. Can I do this and still have just one remote? One remote and be able to change between sources on the receiver?

  1. Check out this link.

    http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/remote...

All of these remotes can be can be programmed to replace up to 15 individual remotes. The online database supports more than 225,000 devices from more than 5,000 brands – and the list grows larger every day.

Note the less expensive models are toward the bottom. Under the "Learn More" link there is a compatibility chart. You can check that your equipment is listed.

  2. Yes. Any of the nicer receivers from Yamaha, Denon and Onkyo come with a remote that you can program to run your equipment. This is the least expensive solution.

You can also get nicer unified remote control systems like MX, Logitec, RTI, Nevo, Philips and others. These remotes start around $200. I, and my clients, prefer a combination touch screen / button model. They start at around $600.
