Home automation - I want to distribute audio and video throughout my house and?

Question

I am about to embark on a house build project and would like to distribute DAB via LCD control panels in each room, wired to DAB radio. Also, I would like a video distribution amplifier so I could distribute video again, throughout the house. Also, with the audio be able to access my mp3's via my lcd panels also.

mallybb298 is absolutely correct in his observation. It can be done, and it is rather expensive. If you plan on going through with something like that, and are willing to spend the money, contact Crestron Inc. at www.crestron.com. They specialize in building systems that do exactly what you want. You get the added bonus that their gear will control your lighting, TV, stereo, A/C and just about anything else that plugs into the wall. We use their control systems in government media center applications and they have outstanding quality and versatility. This, if you do it properly, is going to be bloody expensive.  The best way to do it would be to have a toutch screen PC in each room, wirelessly connected to a central computer.  From each touch screen, you would then be able to access any online content, movies, music or pictures stored on your central computer.  Alternatively, you could use a wired Ethernet connection, connecting the PCs together.  This would give you a reliable Gigabit connection, and no problems with the range of the wireless router.  Do some research, I can see your plan being expensive but worth it.
