Question:

Home based business in a small community...?

i am starting a home based business in my small town community. the business is purely over the internet using a hosted service. Do I need to be concerned with any local ordinances for a web-based service? There is no inventory, foot traffic or goods of any kind. It's basically a blog...

I'm just wondering what to consider from a municipal standpoint. My local community is 'podunk' and I'd rather not have to go before city counsel to gain approval to do such a thing. They've been known to shoot down business proposals for the city because it wasn't what 'they' wanted even know the community wanted it...

Since it's a virtual business, do they have any jurisdiction?

  1. If its virtual they have no say. They won't even know you are doing it more than likely.
