  1. Most of them in any publication are scams.  But you can refer to these websites for assistance in finding a home based business:

    http://www.homebasedbusiness.com/

    http://www.entrepreneur.com/homebasedbiz...

    Good luck!

  2. I am a Career Counselor at a college and I have never been able to find a real work at home opportunity that could generate enough income to give up a real full time job.  Our ethical guideline state that our office will not post any jobs that require the candidate to purchase anything or pay for listings. All of these tend to be scams.

People can make some money doing things like selling Avon or hosting parties, but for the most part nothing else has ever panned out.  Most legitimate telecommuting positions would require you to have some specific training first.  I would never trust anything from out of a magazine. Why would they need to pay the cost of advertising in a magazine if they were real and could post in the classifieds and/or online.  I think people use the backs of magazines (and chat boards like this) when they have been banned from other places.

    Sorry and Good Luck.

  3. I've never heard anything good from these and have actually had a friend of a friend who got scammed pretty bad, not sure what kind of deal it was, billing I believe. I just don't put any faith in those kind of ads, most want money for start up fees, don't trust anyone that wants money from you to start a job I guess. You know the old saying: "If its to good to be true, it probably isn't"
