Home cinema - I want a basic system, preferably wireless, any recommendations please?

Just bought a Sony Bravia TV, and would like the surround sound effect. For lack of clutter I don't want wires everywhere, (and I have power outlets for rear speakers) and so wireless would seem to make sense. However, I don't want to spend a lot (who does) but I'm not an audiophile and so perfection is not required. Distance from screen to viewer is 10 to 12 feet. I'm not very technical so a one box solution would be good. I'm not into games just want to get the cinema experience at home, and get more from from CD collection. Help please?

  1. What do I know only that the Bose unit was more money than I wanted to pay and the wirless units I look at had bad reviews.

So I went for a one box wired system made by a company called "Acoustic Solutions"

I have a single boc about 4' long 10'' deep and about 12'' high have it slub on me wall under the TV and it just right for my application and was onlt £99.00 pounds.

Every one that has seen it said it is just the job and I just love it as all the wires are hide behine the "Acoustic Solutions" unit and TV.

    Lovely

  2. Why don't you go for a good quality 2.1 system?....But definately NOT Bose.

  3. try making an extra room in the house or if u already have one try painting it red or some color to match the tv or cinema effect

put the sony tv on the wall and decorate the room with evryday stuff like sofas bean bags speakers plants and make it compy or buy cinema seats.

  4. The best recommendation I can give is, DON'T go for wireless.  At least, not if you want to enjoy your movies, that is.

All wireless speaker systems, regardless of price, suffer from dropout, interference and static caused by passing vehicles, electrical appliances, mobile phones and even someone walking around the room.  Cheaper ones (under £500) are the worst.

Oh, and don't ever buy Bose, whatever you decide on - their products are utter rubbish...

  5. Bose has a wireless set with awesome sound

one base unit - one bass speaker

    and two small speakers

about $800 at Sam's Club USA

    all the best
