Home corn growing?

i have a corn plant thats growing pretty tall for a while. theres these flower things[looks like asparagus] on top but i dont see any corn growing. just leaves. when can i see corn start to grow?

  1. when the seeds from the flowers growing ont he corn fall and the plant eats those seeds and reproduces some type of new chemical and CORN GROWS BABY!


  2. The "asparagus" on top is the male flower.  The female flower is the more subtle tassles below which comes later.  Wind will pollinate the flowers.  Depending on your variety, corn may take almost three months to harvest.

  4. Are you sure it's corn?  Is it 1 plant?  Corn needs more than 1 plant to germinate and grow corn.  Usually 1 plant has between 2 to 3 ears only.  It is best to grow 2 or 3 short rows rather than 1 long row.  If it is 1 plant there will never be any ears.
