Question:

Home electrical problem?

Every day since we moved into our new home our electricity safety switch has been triggered at 2.03pm each day and I have to go out to the switch board and re-set it. The electrician that wired the place said it is probably being caused by our fridge in the defrosting mode and other appliances being on at the same time overload the power. I have disconnected as many items as I can including the fridge, freezer, electric jug, toaster, second fridge in garage, and it still happens. We have been here now for 5 weeks and are getting sick of resetting everything every day. Anyone give us some suggestions on what to do?

  1. sounds as if you might have to low of an amperage overload that keeps tripping..or you have a short someplace...does your panel have a timer that could trip the switch automaticly..or maybe the switch is low grade and cant handle the appliances..you better get the electrician back to your house..i am sure its still under warrentee

  2. Or Numbs tip doesent work. You can try bring this up to the electric company have their lineman check if their transformer is working properly. Transformers usually tend to beakdown and have limited lifespan.

Also ask the lineman if your neighborhood uses weilding machinery, weilding eats alot of power cause low power voltage dat might trigger safety swiches. If they do, bring this issue to your electric company have your neighbor install seperate transformer.... Oh And don't ferget to tip the lineman.

  3. Since it's a new home, the switch should be new as well.  Have the switch checked for proper operation if it can be checked.  If not, just have it replaced.  If this solves the problem, fine.  If not you know you need to look else where.

If could be something coming in from the electrical lines that's causing this.  That needs to be looked at as well.
