Home for unwed mothers?

I am looking for a list of homes for unwed mothers in England in the 1950's/very early 1960's.

Does anyone know how I can find these?

I have actually been waiting for a friend of mine to reply to my email as yet there is nothing.

As far as I know they were actually known as "house's of shame".

I thought you might like o have a look on this site there is a remote chance there will be some sort of reference to the unmarried mothers homes,
