Home learning courses in the uk which are FREE!?

i have a three month old baby and am on income support, but i still want to further my educatio as i am only 18 years old. i want to do a course, perhaps in maths (g.c.s.e.) or an a level if i can. can anyone help me please?

Unfortunately, most home learning courses have a fee attached, I've yet to come across one that's free.  

Try contacting your nearest college, they'll be able to tell you what courses they have on offer and they should be able to tell you about any funding you should be able to access and if they can offer childcare.  

Connexions should be able to advise you as well as they offer advice up to the age of 19.

hi,

as you are only 18 you are still entitled to free education. have you thought about doing gcse's at a locsl college, most have a creche facility while you study. It may be worth contacting them to see what they can offer, or try looking at learndirect.gov.uk.

Good luck and well done for trying to improve yourself, ignore people who say get a job and pay for it, you are DOING a full time job in being a mum .

there is funding for people on low incomes to learn at home.ask your local job center.

Hmm I can't think of any, but there are adult education centres that you can go to in the evenings or day I think, however, i'm not sure if these are free.

If you are going to do home study, can I recommend that you avoid ICS like the plague, blooming incompetent bunch they are.  I dont know of any places that do those type of courses free but if  youre getting income support youll get a very reduced rate at your local college.  Good for you for working your way up, too many young girls are too happy to sit and take the handouts.
