Home-made ball made from cloth, plastic bags and string?

My friend just got back from her missions trip to Africa this morning and she brought back these home-made balls made from grass, plastic bags and string that the local children made for her kids.I think these are the simplest and coolest toy ever, I love homemade toys because there's just something more to a toy that's been made by hand as opposed to a plastic piece of junk that's assembled very poorly and isn't played with much. She didn't see them make the balls so she's not sure how they put them together. Does anyone know how these are made? Please help! I want to know so much! Materials and methods and what's the best. I searched the internet and can't find anything!

idk, but they could've put an actual ball in it or fill it with cotton, but it's a little complicated. sorry, i can't help!:(
