Home made popcorn need help with sweetning

I make my own popcorn using corn seeds i then put a few in a bowl put another bowl on top of it and put it in the microwave but when i try to sugar it all the sugar goes down to the bottom how can i get that sort of sweet popcorn cinema style? and should i use the cooker to cook popcorn or microwave if cooker instructions needed for it

  1. Do it on the stove, add the sugar before the corn starts popping, so it can be melted by the time the corn pops.  Shake, rattle, and roll as it pops, then when done, pour out onto a cookie sheet so it can dry and cool.
