I've done home party sales before (Princess House Crystal and Park Lane Jewelry). I wasn't very successful mainly because I couldn't afford to "quit my day job" to work at it full time. It seemed to me that the people who were successful were bored housewives who didn't really need the money, and didn't have to support themselves or their families on the income.
In a few years I hope to be in that enviable position. My husband will have his masters degree and should be able to pull down $100K+ on his own (we make about that now w/2 incomes). We'll be moving back up north & I my husband keeps asking me what I'll do. I used to waitress, but I'll be 50 by the time we move & there will be few if any positions available for what I do now up there.
I've investigated a few party plan companies, but want to know what you like/dislike about the one you're with.
Also, should I try to get going now before we move or wait to start my business when we get settled?
