Home pc is running vista... laptop is running xp... how do I get into my laptop files throught the network?

I just want my music files from my laptop easier... I have the permissions change for the folder on the laptop to everyone. When I try to log into the laptop from the desktop... I can't figure out what to put for a user name and password.

have you tried leaving it black and clicking OK? Make sure firewalls are not turned on, and if they are make sure they are setup correctly. Run the Network setup wizard on both computers so you can set it up properly. Make sure you are using  NTFS on the XP machine.
