Well first of all, if someone's number has the same area code as your number but lives in a different town, is it considered long distance? Also, I have no long distance plan on my home phone and when I usually try to call Sacramento or something it just doesn't work. But when I call this person (who's in Modesto) it works. (I live in Stockton, CA) I'm also wondering, if you receive a phone call that isn't collect from a cell phone that's considered long distance, will you be charged for the long distance call?

  1. if its the same area code its local. when u call modesto it is local cuz its the same area code, but if u call sacramento it is a different area code so it is long distance. but if someone calls u from long distance u will not be charge for it.
