Question:

Home phone (charger) interferes with sattelite TV Channels???

Satellite TV reception on both Sky & Freesat is near faultless when phone base/charger is switched off but as soon as it's switched on 30 or 40 Channels become heavily pixelated and unwatchable.

I have tried 3 (new) different phones/ bases/chargers all have the same effect on TV and all 3 stop interference when unplugged from mains electric - It is definitely the base units causing the problem - Have you any Ideas for a cure or cause...Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

  1. You may need to reverse the Neutron Flow in your power adapter grid flux module.

Failing that, you could try checking your home earth connection. Some homes have very poor earthing.

    I hope that helps.

  2. that problem is well known to sky and sometimes will only affect  some individual channels (323, 324). the only solution is to keep the base unit away from the sky box.

  3. Try putting as much "distance" between the base unit/phones, and any satellite equipment (including sat antenna).  RFI is often caused by interfering equipment being too close in proximity (especially the antennas).

If that doesn't help, you could try putting "split ferrite cores" one each of all cables coming and going from all associated equipment.  Ferrite cores suppress RFI radiation from cables and wires.

If RFI is getting into the power lines, you may also need to incorporate an AC line Filter on each device power cord, too.
