Question:

Home pregnancy tests and drinking water?

I have a question, my husband and i have been TTC for about 3 months, and this month I am 2 weeks late. I have nausea, sore b*****s, clogged sinuses, tired all the time. I took about 5 of the EPT and First Response HPT's, and they all said negative. I drink about 2-3 liters of water a day, can that have an impact on the results? I always take the tests in the morning, but i still drink water before bed.

  1. if you are testing first thing in the morning then no, it would not have an effect. try drinking alot less water today and take one in the morning, just to be sure.

  2. nope..... i bought two tests. i used the first one for my morning urine, when it came out positive, i thought something was wrong with the test. so i downed loads of water to take the second one. results came out being the same

  3. Take a blood test instead. See an OB and tell her your symptoms. Blood tests are more reliable than pregnancy tests. :) Good luck!! Here's some baby dust to you. :)

  4. No it won't affect your results, If you take the test first thing in the morning then you would have accurate readings of HCG in your urine. Especially being 2 weeks late you should have way over enough HCG in your system to get a positive result. I would get a blood test done and find out for sure.

  5. Drinking a lot of water can especially if your HCG levels are not high enough yet. Wait a few day and retest again. My first test said negative and my second two after i waited were positive. I am now 24 weeks.
