  1. Not really as far as I know, hydrogen peroxide is your best bet, but like the other person said, ear mites are very nasty and painful and hard to get rid of, so just better to take her to the vet now and get it done.

  2. ALL that home stuff I wouldn't try.  Especially anything from the store.  I only trust meds from a vets office.  What the h**l is wrong w/ people leaving behind animals, that is animal neglect and abuse I hope they are found and sentenced!!!

  3. NEVER ever USE a home remedy with cats especially in the ears without the vets advice. Home remedies can caue PERMANENT DEAFNESS! Always take the cat to the vet for any treatments! Many natural remdies can result in cat's death!

Cats are extremely senesitive to toxic substances even if they don't appear to be toxic!

  4. my cats have chronic ear mites and from experience, i can tell you no over the counter remedy works.  i have tried and tried, but the prescription stuff is the only thing that truly works.

  5. Ear mites are nasty for the poor cat and tricky to keep away.  I've never heard of a home remedy, but even if you find one, mites (especially a bad case like this) aren't anything to mess with- you'll likely need to see the vet for them eventually, so better to get it over with now!

    Good luck ^_^

  6. Your best bet is a proper miticide from the vet, but until you can get her there get some mineral oil and an eye dropper.  Put a few drops in each ear, fold the flap down and massage it in.  She'll fling her head, but that's ok.  Repeat every other day.  It works by smothering the live mites, but you need to keep repeating it as new eggs keep hatching.  It will give her a bit of a greasy appearance around her ears, but it will give her relief.  It's safe and it *does* work - rescues use it on young kittens as most miticides aren't safe to use in kittens under 8-12 weeks old.
