Home remedies to speed up the healing process of a burn?

My boyfriend landed on a hot coal about a month ago and has a huge burn on his stomach. It now has a scab and all red around the edges and he says it is so painful. I have looked up remedies for burns but is there anything that helps a burn that is a month old already to heal faster.

Burns are so tricky as they are painful and can turn nasty fast (infection).

Be sure he's keeping it clean - sterile water (boil water, let it cool place it on a clean wash cloth, apply)

air dry and use peroxide, then a neosporin type ointment.

Cover it and repeat this before bed.

If it's not healing - or still hurts a lot or has fluid, puss etc.

Call the MD you may need some medical help to heal it.

Aloe may help to relieve it, but I am wondering if, at this point, it's infected. As it heals it won't be pretty, but it shouldn't hurt so much. I would get to a doctor to see if it's infected. You say it's red, which COULD be infection or just healing. Have it looked it, and keep him away from hot coals. Accidents sure do hit us by surprise don't they. Wishing your boyfriend well!

Take a piece of the aloe vera plant and warm it up on the stove. You can put it in a skillet with no oil of course.  You just want it to be warm, then you peel the skin on one side and apply it to the burn.  

I have had 3rd and 4th degree burns and was in the burn center in Houston for 2 months. The nurses would come in every hour and apply cocoa butter on me. This might or might not help seeing as how his burn is a month old.  But it couldn't hurt either. And keep on putting peroxide on it because you don't want an infection. Burns can get infected easily.  He most likely will have a scar but you can buy over the counter cream for scars.  I think there's one called Mcderma.(not sure)  Just be sure and keep that burn super clean.
