  1.   Thank you hudsongray for posting that GARLIC AND ONIONS ARE POISONOUS TO CATS! More people need to be aware of this! I agree that you should buy the product hudsongray reccomended. The bad thing about home remedies is that most of the time they are only trial and error, i.e the the garlic. I would be devestated if I tried something on my baby and it harmed her. If you still have doubts call your vet, they can suggest something inexpensive and safe for your kitty.      :)

  2. mental oil, lemon grass oil, any citrus oil, ethyl alcohol or white vinegar...shake well ..then gulp!...opps no! spray all over wooden area. Around your house, soil area, use white plaster cement spring around your house.  Simplest ways. Pamelo, orange, or any citrus peels , dry out the peels, may mix with dried leaves , burn.  these will repell all the insect including human(lol) ,just kidding.

  3. Garlic is toxic to cats. So is onion.

Your best bet is to get a $10 dose of Advantage from the vet and put it on the cat. Then vacuum the house every day.  Fleas sucked up into vaccuums die in the process, so getting the loose ones in the environment goes a long way in controlling them.

The ones on the cat will die from the Advantage. The ones NOT on the cat will jump on and die in the next week or so, but you can take out a majority of them with the vacuum during that time.

  4. Bathe them in Dawn, leave it on for AT LEAST 5 minutes. Afterwards, let them dry a little and then comb them with a flea comb, there'll be a lot of dead fleas so use a towel to carry the kitty.

  5. My grandpa always used to give his dogs garlic. I don't know if this really works, because I hardly ever try it, but his dogs never seem to be itchy (lol). He always used to put it in their food, cut. Anyway, I think this does work, I've only done it like 3 times, my dogs don't have any fleas, and they never had flea drops. Also, you might want to put garlic powder, or cut up the clove very good, most dogs, that I've seen, are stubborn to take it (of course). Good luck!
