  1. You could try a few acupressure points like Liver 3, Gallbladder 41 and Large Intestine 4. Here are some photos of the points:

  2. Adding to Nico's comment about the cold pack on the head (when you constrict the blood vessels in the head the bloods got to go somewhere.....If you have that blood throbbing headache.....  put your feet in warm water, it dilates the vessels in the feet, with the cold pack on the head the vessels there constrict sending blood down,  relieving the pressure.

Peppermint  essential oil on the temples and at the base of the back of the neck will help relieve muscle tension headaches. Be aware not to get the oil near your eyes as it can creep into the corners. If that happens apply olive oil and wipe off.

If you tend to get them often you might want to consider taking a magnesium supplement. It's deficiency has been shown to be linked to some migraines and headaches. It cured mine.

  3. Well, it really depends on which kind you have there are about 5 different kinds. But in most cases I found the thing that's a no fail for me is ice pack on the head even though I hate having ice on my head it works.

  4. Some salt&sugar will help............

And Feverfew is a herb used for migrains which

    supposedly helps...

It really depends on the cause of it though...

Magnesium 300mg sometimes helps as well...

    Good Luck

  5. Drink cool not cold water. Also lower your salt and caffeine intake since both of these can either cause or aggravate the condition

  6. caffeine. (Just a little- maybe some weak tea) have lots of water and a NAP.

  7. Lots of good answers here. I, as a headache sufferer agree with most of them. No-one however mentioned reflexology. Acupressure to feet and hands as well as the head massage which was mentioned  and is great relief. Finding out the triggers, whether stress related or diet related. Avoid indigestable foods, spicy, fatty etc usually. More and more water to drink, warm water helps. Feet in hot water. Rest, sometimes elevating feet helps. Herbal teas for nervousness help in stress. Laxatives can help. Psyllium husk before bed is a cheap easy one.

  8. You should get some dried rosemary herb at an herb/health food store. That is one of THE BEST herbs for alleviating headache pain, nervous tension, migraines, and all kinds of things. I never get headaches so I havent tried it for that, I just drink it because I love the taste and it has soo many benefits.

  9. take a hammer to your big toe and you will forget about the headache

  11. Ask someone to give you an Indian Head Massage. Massage either Almond Oil or Cocconut Oil {great for dandruff}.

Drink plenty of purified water, headaches can be due to dehydration, drink 1/2 your bodyweight in ounces per day.

Eat lots of fruit/veg rich in Salicyclic acid, like black cherries.

Open the windows, get some fresh air, or go for a brief walk in the garden or street.

Listen to some gentle music and relax lying down.

    hope this helps.
