I have a very bad cough, and its cracked my voice to the point where I can barely talk now. Is there a home remedy or some type of store-bought medicine to help me get my voice back?

  1. You probably have laryngitis, dont whisper, it strains your voice! Just relax it, to find more look up Laryngitis, it goes away on its owns after a week or two!

  2. Well, whenever I had a sore throat my mom would make me gargle with warm salt water. I hated it ... REALLY hated it. But it worked every time.

But if your problem is the cough, then you probably want to look for a cough suppressant at your pharmacy.

    Good luck!

  3. Proven home remedy is to drink each morning a glass with warm milk in which you put a teaspoon of honey and one fresh yolk of egg.

    Don't speak aloud one week

Around the neck put a compress with warm water plus vinegar, half-half, at least twice a day.

After you'll eat brush your teeth to avoid a super infection.

Breathe deeply 20 times morning and evening only via your nose

    And you'll be better soon.

  4. There are good answers here already but I would choose gargling with warm salt water when you wake up and about five times throughout the day, 20 mins later drink warm water with lemon and a little honey. Slippery Elm is a great natural coating for your throat and Throat Coat Tea will be good too, you can buy these at natural grocery stores or vitamin stores.

Try not to have fans on you or lots of A/C as the air can aggravate and dry your throat. Rest your voice and get some sleep. Your body will naturally heal itself so rest is the most important. The other things are to help you while you're waiting for your body to heal.

  5. Take a quart of whiskey starin it thru a cheesecloth and drink entire quart. then suck a lemon for about 10 minutes, that should do it.
