  1. Yes, the easiest way to do this is to enroll in an on-line highschool. If one is not availble, a student could take honor classes by doing more challenging work, assignments, and projects. An ap class could be a class at the local community college.

  2. No one needs to take AP classes in order to sit the exam.  http://www.home-school.com/Articles/phs3... explains your options:  taking a class online, registering for a local class, or studying with the aid of an AP preparation manual.

    All the best.

  3. It depends. If they're in an online school or charter school that offers honors or AP classes, of course they can.

If they homeschool independently, they can also do this if they want to. When choosing materials and deciding what to study, they can work at the honors level and record the class as an Honors class on their transcript.

For AP, if you're homeschooling independently without an online or charter school, you can get materials and plan to take a course at the AP level, then register to take the test when ready, or you can sign up for AP classes offered online or in your community, or you can just find out what's on the test, study for it, and take it without any formal course. Anyone can take AP or other college board exams, and if you pass them it looks really good when applying to college.

  4. Connections Academy and Kaplan offer Ap and honors courses. Check here to see if they have a free program in your state. http://takecontrolofyoureducation.blogsp...

    Best of Luck!
