  1. Most school districts offer home schooling programs or independent study. My daughter was very sick when she was 14 and the district in Orange CA sent a teacher around for an hour each week. He took her work for grading and assigned her work for the next week. After that, we switched over to independent study where she went into a special school for 3 hours a week to interact with the teacher but otherwise she studied on her own. Because this is considered harder, she was able to graduate with a 4.0 GPA, a year early. Over 200 colleges tried to recruit her and she just got he BA in economics and is off the grad school this fall for a MS in transportation engineering. Mind you it helped that I am a professional engineer and was able to help her with all her school work though I had to relearn my calculus to get her through hers.

Just call your school district and ask about their home schooling program.

  2. check with your school district or do a web search for tutors in your area. I dont see any reason you couldnt do it yourself unless it is a time issue. usually it is just a matter of the child meeting certain criteria and passing test. she could probably do most of it herself if she takes it seriously with help from her family. and bullying is real as well as lots of other problems with public school systems. I think that home schooled children are allowed to participate in most extra curricular activities also such as sports, band, etc. good luck.

  3. I don't see why you would have her home schooled.

Bullying is bad, but its not horrible.

Has she been bullied? Besides name calling, because there is name calling, but in my opinion bullying isn't really happening, and if she is bullied she can go to a teacher or counselor and get advised.

I think it might be better for her to stay in a social environment.

  4. That's so stupid. "bullying" isn't REAL.

  5. Depending on which state you reside, this is a possibility.  But you could also teach her.  Again, some states will not let a non-high school degreed parent teach their child, but many do.  And non-high schooled parents have helped their children graduate high school at home.  It's a matter of what you are willing to do.

  6. I think you'd be better off teaching her yourself.  You can buy a curriculum that tells you exactly what to say and do in order to teach her.  It is VERY simple.  All you have to do is know how to read.  You could even used a computer based program.

Statistics show parents can successfully homeschool their children even if they do not have a high school diploma.  Here is some information on homeschooling statistics:

I commend you on taking steps to protect your daughter.  Good luck!

  7. i know im not giving you the dirrect information you want, but in my opinion your child should be involved and interact with other children, homeschooling is perfectly fine just try to encourage them to join a travel team or a group outside of school. your child needs to be able to handle battles and what the real world is like. if you go onto your childs school website there should be a link to inform you on homeschooling if not you can look up online or even go to the school, the secritaries are usually there for parts of the summer

  8. You shouldn't take your daughter out of school because of bullying.  There are ways to deal with such things.  Although it can be frustrating at time, school is definitely an experience your daughter can learn from.  Do not take that away from her.  If she's being bullied, talk to administrators and if they don't do anything, call the police and/or find a lawyer and have yourself a lawsuit.

  9. What state do you live in?  There are usually many options.  I will include a link to the home school legal defense association to help you see what you need to do in your state. There's a lot of support out there, I hope all goes well!

  10. I'm so sorry about your daughter. Bullying can completely distract kids from learning.

You don't need to hire someone, you can teach her yourself. There are many free public homeschool programs and you can also do it on your own.

    -Start at http://www.hslda.com

    Look up your state's laws

-Choose an online school or look for curriculum yourself-

look for connections academy and k12 homeschool

-Read books from the library about homeschooling
