I think you will find it really helpful and don't worry your not the only one who experiences this.

  2. I'm home educated and i go to groups and have home educated friends so if you live in leicester or near then you can come to..

YES! i will be your m8 give me your e-mail address and i will e-mail you. GOOD LUCK!

p.s. i will send an question on YA that will say "is anyone out there who is home educated!!!???" so you can answer it saying your email address ok?

  3. Why are you lonely? Don't you have any acitivities to go to?

My kids were in the local little theater, they raised farm animals for fairs, they went on a ton of field trips with the local home school kids, they went to library events, volunteered at church functions there is absolutely no reason to be lonely and aside from the things mentioned you can join a sports team, scouting, and even martial art classes.   You should not be just studying at home all the time and you have extra time to do these things cause your not on a set schedule!!

    Have fun!!

  4. How come you are lonely?  Don't you go to any clubs?

My son is 15 and we have homeschooled him for years.  He has always had friends and socialises alot.

Try going to clubs or meeting with other home edders.  Have to joined a home education club.

Try the link below, they will help you meet up with others.

  5. No need to be embarassed =)

  6. I'm in year 10 and have been home educated for two years. Have you joined a local learning zone? for home educated pupils? Also I'm taking some GCSE's early (took Statistics last year, this year taking English, Maths and Science, next year taking Law, Business Studies, Psychology and either Sociology or ICT).

Most local colleges let people from the age of 14 study (though it is more expensive) so that's a good way to meet people. Also other home-educated people near me do a lot of studying by correspondence course so meeting up with them and chatting is fun.

I'm quite a shy person and rather then having sixteen friends i have a couple of close friends. Try to find other home-educated people in your area and meet up with them. Once you've met them once you'll be surprised how much you fit in.

P.S do you live in England?

  7. Hi!  I agree with Tapestry that you need to join some outside activities & have fun!

I home schooled my 5 sons.  They got a bit bored & lonely at times, but not too bad.

All my sons were very happy I home schooled them.  Sure they missed out on a few things that big schools can give, but their teachers in college & their bosses say they are a lot smarter & more mature than most who went to regular schools.  So be proud that you are home schooled - just ask your parents if you can join some good activity or hobby groups as well.
