  1. Try Elizabeth Ann Seton. Its not cheap but they are great. You can also try Kolbe Academy.

  2. K12's program for Texas doesn't include high school, so that won't help you.

http://www.texasvirtualschool.org/ is available, but you do have to pay.

There are places like Keystone and American School of Correspondence, but again, you have to pay and I'm not sure how much they costs.

Does it have to be online? Would you be able to do your own thing, functioning like a private school?

  3. Call your local school board and ask them

  4. There is another choice that you may consider instead of going on line. A Beka academy has DVDs that you can "rent" for both or just the second semester that are really wonderful.  You can choose to let ABeka grade the work, or you can buy the manuals and grade all the work yourself.  If you are completely new to homeschooling, I would advise letting them do the grading.  You can also choose which subjects you want to use.  I believe you can go to abeka.org and get the information if you are interested.

  5. In Texas, there is a virtual academy through K12.  They offer free tuition and materials, but be aware it is a public charter school.  Some people are fine with that, some aren't.

Just go to the K12 site and click on Texas; it should give you the rest of the info.  Hope that helps!

  6. thegraceacademy.org

its not free but its a great site.

    k-12freehomeschool.org

its free but 30 dollars shipping and handeling for supplies

it says waiting list but really they contact you the next day

  7. start here

    Texas Virtual Academy

    http://www.txva.org/

The curriculum is great and they provide the materials...INCLUDING the computer.....not to mention it is FREE.

You have a state certified teacher to answer too and work samples, current progress and attendance will be expected.

        Good Luck!

We use the curriculum in Pennsylvania

***Papabear is ill informed and uneducated on the cyberschooling/ homeschool issue. There is a difference between socialization and being socialized.

Children being schooled at home participate in a myriad of excurricular activities and in many state they are allowed to participate in sports programs. Many familes choose this option to keep their children from being bullied er I mean "socilaized" in an archaic Prussian based system of education that was designed to pump out obediant factory workers for the state.

  8. you got to pay. the state of texas does not pay for homeschooling. check into charter schools OR why don't you go to a regular school funded by taxpayers and trained teachers. A place to meet people and develop socially. Maybe join in on a sport?
