  1. www.k12.com......Is based in Herndon, Virginia and is a publically traded stock. It is an excellent curriculum that is along the lines of a Classical Education. I know your in the UK but it is worth a look at the website.

My dd has bad allergies and asthma and would miss a lot of time from school while ill. Schooling at home helps because while too ill to be in school for several hours she is not to ill to work at home.

Many folks will ask about the "S" question....Socialization. There is a difference between socialization and being socialized.

Children who are schooled at home have many

opportunities to be with other children. Sports, scouts, religious education, playgroups and neighborhood kids.

DD has excelled in this education arena and her thirst for knowledge is incredible. She is allowed to work at an accelerated pace and most importantly she is happy. When asked if she wanted to attend traditional school next year she said NO WAY!

  2. You should have done your research about homeschooling before taking her out. I'm not sure hovv the UK is but here in the United States you go up to your local courthouse and they give you documents and information on homeschooling and then you log in all the hours you teach her and at the end of the year take it to the court house so they can keep record of it for you.

  3. A child would not be allowed to be de-registered from school until all the home-schooling arrangements and necessary inspections had already been made

I would elaborate, but I think this question is bogus

  4. Good for you. I know that must have been a tough decision.

I hope this link can help you. For your area I would search for homeschool organizations in your area and call someone who will assist you.

  5. I'm not sure about the UK but google Homeschooling in the UK.  Actually in the US different states have different rules and regulations to follow.

You are right though, she will learn better at home, no distractions.
