Question:

Home schooling in Colorado?

by  |  earlier

I live in Los Angeles, CA right now and I go to a high school charter school/home school and its called Options For Youth. I go to school twice a week for one hour each day. I am assigned packets that I have to turn in and test on each appointment. I am about to move to Colorado and they don't have an Options For Youth there. Is there anyone who knows of any other schools like Options For Youth in Colorado? Close to the Denver area?

Thanks

  1. I do not know in the Denver area if there is that type of program per se, but, I can tell you that there is a large population of home schoolers in Colorado....and up in the smaller mountain towns also...for good reason.  Good luck. patience and persistence...

  2. You may want to look into a University Model School:

There are a couple of UMS in Colorado which sound similar to what you were doing.   I don't know if they are close to you where you'll be, though:

    Hope this helps!

  3. There is COVA, Colorado Virtual Academy, that's state-wide.  It's only K-11, but it's a great option and it's *huge* in CO.  Here's their link:

If you're familiar with CAVA in CA, then COVA is basically the same - it's a public online charter school.
