  1. The requirements are a learning book, a lot of time, papers, spirals, notebook,  and a computer. And don't forget, patience.

      Unless you decited to do more things like experiences in science, then you need tubes, scale, containers, and a bunch other things.

      Home school is going to be a lot of work, and remember that you will not have any friends, other than your mother.

  2. I just started home schooling my 9-yr-old son, Bobby, this year. We are using K12, which is an online based curriculum. When you join, you purchase and receive all the materials you will need. It is terrific. All the daily lesson plans are set up for you. It is very structured. It has lots of interactive lessons and my son and I love it very much. Other than that, you need a computer. ALSO, you have to check on the laws on the state you are in. In New Orleans, we write a letter to the School Board in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and the school they are in now. SO SIMPLE!! Give it a try. You won't be sorry.

  3. I was home-educated for most of my school-hood, and it worked far better than school would have done.

    You need:

    1 - A VERY dedicated parent (or parents);

    2 - The right syllabus;

    3 - The right information, e.g. books, the internet, etc.;

    4 - A good place to study;

    5 - A membership with a home-education society or authority, so that inspectors can check up on you from time to time, making sure that you're doing all right;

    6 - Motivation - it can become hard to study in one's own house sometimes, for distractions are numerous.

    Anyway, I hope it goes well for you. Home-education is a wonderful avenue to take, and is extremely rewarding.

  4. there are non just look up the homeschooling laws in your state they are all different

  5. In my home we require the students to learn.

    They are expected to get up in the morning and do their basic "getting going" chores, eat breakfast and then find a quiet place to study.

    The first requirement of the day is math --- computing equations is the most productive when the mind is fresh and well rested.  They study one complete math lesson in their Saxon Math book.  Then they must check to see if all of the answers are correct.  The goal is to have 95% or better accuracy every day.

    The second requirement is that they write a full one page essay every day and give it to me to check for clarity, grammar and spelling.

    The third requirement is for them to read at least 2 hours and up to 4 hours every day.  They read from a list of books that is considered to be high-quality in both literary value and morality.  In addition to reading they study vocabulary -- both in definition and usage.  This helps them to develop a full comprehension of everything that they read.

    I'm sure that you are wondering about what "They" require as in the state laws or your school district.  Go to www.hslda.org and find the link to your state.

    Most homeschoolers prefer to be totally independent from any control of the state or educational bureaucrats.  Our standards are set high and we do not choose to have interference from other people that might want to dictate our method and material.

    The most important requirement that you can have in your homeschool is that of Diligence.  Do your very best in everything -- from studying to doing chores, from playing games to being obedient, from working hard to being kind and compassionate, from paying careful attention to the needs of others to taking care of yourself.

  6. Start at this website: http://www.hslda.org/laws/default.asp. It has a summary of each state's homeschooling laws. It really depends on which state you're in as to the things you have to do. Some states are really easy on homeschoolers, while others have a lot of different requirements. Just make sure you're ready to meet those you have to.

  7. requierments? well, you have to take an end of year test and get so many credits in certain subjects like math and english. other than that, home schooling is what you make it.

  8. Depends.  What state do you live in, and are you in high school or middle school?  Each state has different regs and laws (and a couple have different requirements for high school).

    Let us know and we can give you details :-)
