Home schooling question for those in Dallas, Texas.

Question

I would like something basically like the LIFEPAC - Alpha Omega Publications that my daughter can use to complete homeschooling...

I want something where they could give us the work, she can do it at home, and then when finished we can take it up to the school and get more work.

Is there anything like this in the Dallas, Texas area? I've searched around and cannot find much info, so any that you have is appreciated.

How old is your daughter? Such a thing might exist for a local high school in the form of an independent study program. That is, if she's high school level. Other than that, the reason you can't find anything is because it probably doesn't exist. The type of thing you are suggesting falls into independent study (if offered) or an umbrella school, which doesn't exist in Texas because they aren't needed to legally homeschool or to make legal homeschooling easier. If you are willing to pay, there are various online and distance learning schools out there.

I don't know if there are any hybrid schools that use LIFEPAC, but you can buy those for your own use - and you or she can grade them with the teacher manual.  They're really not that difficult to use.

I have relatives in the Arlington area, their kids attend a hybrid school where they have classes 2-3 days a week and homeschool the rest.  I don't believe they use LIFEPAC, but you may want to check with local homeschooling groups about such organizations.
