Home security system without old tradition phone line?

Question

Most of us now relied on our cell phone more than the house phone like old days. Eventually the house phone just sit at home to collect dust. Basically I do not wish to wasted $40 a month on something I will no longer use. In fact, I do want to install a home security system that doesn't required traditional phone line. Yet still be able to monitor the house 24/7 at their headquarter. Will notify the police, fire dep, or ambulance.

Beside ADT or Brinks. Are there any Wireless Home security system out there is trustworthy? I saw uControl online but never heard or know anyone use it before.

So please if anyone out there could help .. let me know!

Wow. I *wish* I had a traditional home phone. Unfortunately, at the moment I'm not making much money and I have to cut every corner I can (I steal wireless internet from a neighbor)... I HATE cell phones, too many problems, you can't hear them... they can't hear you, etc., and the sound is so compressed to the point that even if reception is perfect you don't understand what the other party is talking about half the time. Boy do I look foward to the day that I can afford a real phone.
