  1. Well, it's better in alot of ways education wise....

Everything else sucks....I mean really sucks....

  2. I guess the first answerer needs to work on her reading comprehension. You clearly state that you just began homeschooling. Unless you are misspelling these words in some attempt to seem hip that I am too old to understand, you really do need to work on your spelling and grammar. Public school clearly did not teach you much about those subjects. Don't worry though. With homeschool you have opportunities to improve your writing skills. I'm glad you are working hard. I think you will see the rewards of that work soon. Take pride in your education. It is the one thing in life you can never lose. Yes, colleges will look at your transcripts, your ACT and SAT scores and they often like a portfolio as well.

Don't listen to people who say everything about homeschool sucks. It may be that their home life is a mess, but many homeschoolers have great grades and social lives. This experience is what you and your parents make of it.

I wish you all the best!

  3. First- a reply to "just me"...ummm...he has been in public school and just started homeschool...so I imagine this is what he has learned in public school.      ummmm. think about it.

Ok  Now for my question before we can give you a real answer:

Are you homeschooled or are you doing school at home?

There is a difference and you may want to do some research on the difference.   Public school programs done at home are successful for some people, but it does not have the success proven in actual homeschool situations.   You can more efficiently use your time in school at home.    You don't worry about transportation,  clothes, changing classes,  fire drills, lock down drills, drama, or time with the teacher explaining something for the 4th and 5th times to those who were not paying attention for the first 3 times.

As far as colleges go, they will look at your SAT scores as well as the courses and activities you have done in your high school years.  You keep record of that in your transcripts/portfolio.  Extra activities, civic clubs and volunteering, are very important to many colleges.  Homeschooling makes these activities easy since you can control your schedule.

An education is more important than a diploma.   Getting a diploma is easy.   You just pass the test.   Getting an education is a lifelong process.   You need to start the process now.

  4. "S-C-H-O-O-L"   not   "S-K-O-O-L"

    "W-H-A-T"  not  "W-A-T"

    "L-I-K-E"  NOT "L-Y-K-E"

I won't even begin to discuss your grammar.

Since you say you just "started getting homeskooled" I will assume that your spelling and grammar will soon improve.  If this is the best the Public School could do for you, its no wonder your parents decided to homeschool you!

Here is the best thing about it (in your case).  You will learn how to spell!  You will learn not to use double negatives!  You will learn how to speak English, and possibly write it too!

  5. I homeschooled my two oldest children, they started college at 17 and one will be finished in Dec. and the other a year from now so you will have no trouble getting into college.

Also am homeschooling my youngest she is 15 and has a hard time learning so I had to take a more hands on approach with her instead of all the books I teach her in away she can understand and learn. Get someone to look into different kinds of learning for you if your having a hard time with the books it helped my youngest greatly now she has fun learning instead of feeling overwhamed by it.

    Good Luck, Tammy

  6. Actually colleges do look at your grades, so you need to keep track. I know, I'm a college student, you can't get into college if you don't have a transcript.
