What should I do to get the best bang for my buck in home insulation/weatherproofing for the upcomming winter. 100+ year old farmhouse, very windy location, Northeast US.

  1. You really don&#039;t need any more insulation. Any more and you would store too much heat in the attic.

    Typically, weatherproofing the house is a much better way to go. You are in a very exposed climate and probably have a very leaky house unless you have already tried to seal it. You can do it yourself if you are handy around the house. Otherwise, you might be able to find a contractor that specializes in weather sealing through some of the links below.

    Typically air infiltration is a large problem for an old home in an exposed area. Good Luck
