I want to get a subwoofer for my new HT setup (3000 cu. ft-20Lx14Wx10h) should i go with 2 Velodyne vx-10 or one Klipsch KSW-12? My only concern with the velodyne is the bass extension of 36hz, since this will only be for movie watching, and I want to be able to get the "lows"

  1. Check out SVS and HSU. Very good subs at good prices. You only need one sub. Two subs is hard to calibrate.

  2. Velodyne, Go for 1 DSL3750R or if you want deeper go for the Energy S10.3 at 21Hz!!!

  3. Get the Klipsch. I have the SW-12, and it has a variable output control as well as a variable cutoff frequency control. This makes it very easy to balance with your existing speakers, regardless of the manufacturer (I have the Klipsch Quintets fed with a Yamaha 5.1 receiver - the sound is awesome).

The SW-12 also really kicks out low, tight bass. I have mine setting in the corner of a very spacious living room behind the TV stand. It really fills up the room.

Get the Klipsch. You'll love it.

  4. You could probably go with the one klipsch.  your place is small enough.  or get one velodyne and if it doesnt sound full enough go buy the second one.  And remember Sub placement is the most difficult.  Listen and move the sub around to find the best location.
