I am buying a new projector for my home theater and I have decided on either the Mitsubishi 1500, or the epson 77c but I would like to see them running while they are playing a video, so I can see how each does. I no the mitsubishi is better but I still would like to see both of them running. If anyone has a picture or video of this or knows where to get one off a website could you please give me a link or e-mail me the video and or picture at tjs323@yahoo.com

  1. Go with the Mitsubishi 1500 since the contrast ratio is well over 2500:1 versus the Epson 77c which is a mere 400:1.  You will notice right away that DVDs will appear more striking on a Mitsubishi vs. the Epson.

    Good luck!

  2. They are quite different projectors -- I suggest you have still got some "needs definition" work to do so you can focus down to a specific projector (But that's not your question).

A review of each is available at the links below. The Mitsubishi review has lots of  pictures, but not the Epson.  I find that between these two sites one can usually get a very good idea of the relative strengths of different models.

You really can't tell very well from pictures though. Digital cameras can't capture the full sense of the image. The only true test (and even that will be influenced by the screen and viewing conditions) is to see them live. You ow it to yourself to find a distributor that can demo at least one of the models you are considering.  I bought my current projector unseen, but I had seen several others live that provided a reference point.

    Hope this helps.
