Home theater help! ?

Question

i have been able to find two speaker towers and what seems to be the center speaker from my moms surround sound system which she was planning on giving away. Now i know i need to purchase a receiver or ampifier for it to function but do i need to buy the additional two speakers for the back left and right in order for the center speaker to work or can i just have a left and right speaker tower along with a receiver, also can someone help me find a cheap amp for less than 100$ plz i havent been able to find any perferabley bestbuy

I have been using two good speakers for my home theater for years and the sound is great.  Surround sound is rarely set up right and is overrated anyway.

The surround sound will work with the 3 speakers if you dont have rear speakers and furthermore consider looking on ebay for cheap amp
