  1. THX certification on Home Theater equipment is kind of a rip-off.  THX certification on DVDs and Blu-ray Discs is worth it about 80% of the time.

THX certification refers to how LOUD a receiver (or speaker) will play and the THX surround processing itself makes sure that everyone in the listening area has an AVERAGE sound experience instead of just one person sitting in the one SWEET-SPOT (amazing sound) in the middle of all 5 (or 7) speakers, while everyone else does without.

It's actually a good idea in great big movie theaters with hundreds of people, but when watching movies with only one or two people at home, THX really sacrifices sound qualtiy.

What you'll notice right away with THX processing (included on THX certified receivers) is that your 3 front speakers lose all their treble (high-end) and your rear speakers volume drops by at least 50%.

  2. In simple words .. it s a certification that says, the amplifier or the system u buy satisifes all the necessary qualities of a home theatre....

  3. Certification begins during the initial product design phase. Every product detail is meticulously mapped to THX standards. And THX engineers spend countless hours testing and analyzing products in laboratory and home theater environments to ensure quality, usability and compatibility that’s worthy of the THX name.
