having a U.S.B input on a reciever seems like a great idea, I could save my music on a thumb drive and play it on the reciever. My wife currently uses a 5 disc c.d player hooked to our reciever. My question is.. Do these recievers have the ability to play folders stored on the thumb drive or just files? Meaning, lets say you want to store your music in folders seperating Christmas, Country, rock, R&B ect. Does it have the ability to play the R&B without having to listen to the rest of the music? and would the reciever have the ability to shuffle play like the C.D player can?

  1. Very true. I believe the GUI system on 08' Denon models will let you display folders and go from there, however i'm not sure.

NOTE: AVR-2308, 2808, 3808 and so on. Not 08' the year

More questions? Just e-mail me. I have owned a home theater business

  2. To my knowledge it all depends on your receiver.

  3. it would be best if you post your receiver brand and model because those are features that depends on models maybe it can play from folders to a certain numbers of levels means a folder inside a folder inside a folder ect... but features like shuffle, repeat, ect.. depends on manufacturer you could check in the receivers manual or post the brand/model.
