Home video on a dvd?

is it possible to burn or record home videos, the type that u put in something else and put in the vcr, and put it on a dvd?

  1. i think you would have to go to a video store (where they make movies, not rent them , ie wedding movies, etc.) You can also buy speacial kind of DVD /vcr combo that can do this as well. But they are not really worth it b/c they are really expensive. If you have a few videos for the VCR, then I suggest going to the store. If you have lots then buy the combo player. ANother thing to note is that, you should only do this with home personal videos , and not with your favourite hollywood movies (if you own them) b/c it is much better to buy them on DVD (a whole lot cheaper) than just trying to convert those from VHS to DVD>


  2. If you have a VHS-C (Compact VHS tape) you can record it to a DVD using a combo VHS/DVD Recorder and a VHS-

    C adaptor. Or you can use the camera and a video capture device for the computer. If it is an 8MM tape you will need an 8MM camera to record from.
