  1. Why would you miss your friends?  Are your parents planning on locking you in a closet?  Are your friends so shallow that just because you won't be in the same building with them they will no longer be your friends?  You will still be able to see them in the afternoons and weekends.  It would be like you were going to a different school than them.  You will receive a much better education than your public school peers and will be able to finish daily work faster if you choose.  That will give you much more free time to pursue social activities.

  2. aww, i feel SO bad for you!!! i would HATE to be home schooled. all the home schooled kids  i no are antisocial freaks. sorry to hear that you are being forced. i love going to public school!

  3. Well, you'll be apart from your friends for what? Six hours a day? Thirty hours a week? Honestly, that still leaves you 138 hours a week to hang out together! If my mates and I can keep our friendships going when, for nine months of the year, they're away at boarding schools scattered across the country, I'm pretty sure that your friendships will survive you homeschooling......and, if they don't, well, gotta ask yourself whether those friendships were really that strong in the first place or just based around your shared experience of being shut up together in school for six hours a day (not much to build a longterm friendship on).

There are numerous advantages to being home-educated but the thing to remember is that, far more than school ever was, homeschooling is what *YOU* make of it, for good or bad.

Go into it expecting it to make you miserable and unhappy and that's almost certainly what will happen. Go into it excitedly looking forward to the adventure and it can be the most amazing, liberating experience of your life so far.

  4. My daughter is 14 and has home schooled for the last three years. She loves it! Her schedule is flexible, meaning she can stay up a bit later than a typical student might and she sleeps in later as well, since there is no bus to catch. Try not to worry about losing friends or not having the opportunity to make new ones. You might just find a wider range of activities and social opportunities than you had confined within public school ;-).

    Good luck and enjoy!!

  5. Hiiii (:

I'm seventeen and was home-schooled from when I was nine until I was sixteen. Now i've started College so obviously i'm not home-schooled anymore but i'm pretty familiar with it.

I don't know whether you'll be moving house and away from your friends or something, but if you're not, you'll still see your friends. Sure, you won't be able to hang out with them all day during school, but you've got weekends and you've got before and after school. True friends will always stick by you no matter what happens. In my situation, I not only became home-schooled but I also moved several hours away from where I originally lived so I barely got to see my friends anymore. But obviously I made new friends over time.

There are plenty of upsides about being home-schooled. Obviously, it depends on what your new routine will be like, but I found that it gives you plenty of freedom. You'll get flexible learning times so you don't have to work as many hours as you would if you were at school. No more of this '9 til 3' nonsense so you can sleep in late sometimes if your folks allow (: There is never a huge crazy big class full of school kids all messing about, you get the opportunity to learn more in less time. You'll get emphasis on just you instead of a whole class, which is pretty cool. No horrible school food either, and no wasting your time for classes to start or anything. Also, it's cool being in home surroundings. It's nice being able to get up and go grab a drink from the kitchen, or listen to your iPod whilst writing.

Give it a chance, talk to your folks about it if it's not working and see what'll happen then. If you really don't want to, they shouldn't force you to. I'm sure they've got your best interests at heart :]

    Good luck xo

  6. Home schooling is going to be loads of fun ,

its true you will miss being with your friends as much , but they will still see you as much as you want. They will proberbly be jeleous of these perks !

    1. No School Uniform

    2. No detentions

    3. No Running around the school for your next class

    4. No boring tasks , school is how you like it !

    5. More Free time !

  7. You can sleep in, take vacation days whenever you want. You eat a GOOD lunch rather than cafeteria food. If you're doing it online through virtual school, you're teachers are like kindergarten teachers (extremely nice and helpful) The work isn't hard. You just have to motivate yourself to do it or you'll fall behind. Do more than you're required to each week and try to finish as soon as you can. The longer you're home schooled, the less fun it gets. My YOUNGER sister started when she was in 6th grade and now she's a grade ahead of me. -_-' So you have the possibility of finishing sooner if you really try.

    Enjoi Home Schooling :D

  8. Less homework and you have a shorter day of school but I am super sorry that sucks

No fear of being shot at school is always a perk
