I am chronically sick and am unable to go to school. So i am being homebound tutored by a teacher right now. My mom and i were thinking about either homeschooling or online charter school. Its very hard for me to consitrate for long periods of time due to dysautonmia and POTS. So i was wondering what do you think would be better, homeschooling or charter school? Thanks for help in advance =]

(oh and i'll be in 9th grade next yr)

  1. Homeschooling will offer more flexibility.  Charter schools will require that you "keep up" with the class.  Homeschooling will let you work for short periods as you feel able, without the pressure of worrying about keeping up with the rest of the class.

Our family homeschools year round except for a period of time between Thanksgiving and New Years.  It takes the pressure off during those times we're sick or just need a day off for whatever reason.

    Good luck with your decision.

  2. Whatever way that you decide works best with you, your primary concern always is, and always will be the CURRICULUM.

You may find something to help you out here:

I have found these curriculum providers as well as their curriculum to be hands down the best for a student working independently and or inside an individual learning regimen, such as you described that you are having to complete.

(BTW- I worked my way up through from first being a classroom aide, a student tutor, a substitute, a teacher, athletics's director, and then finally Principal, and this particular curriculum, and its provider, is the ONLY thing I will use or recommend for the homeschooling high school students, and or the distance learning of any High School students which are enrolled under a program that I must oversee.

I know I make a strong case for it, but please also know that I have no vested interest in this company through either financial or personal connections.

I simply use them solely for the fact that as a stand alone, "scope and sequence" program for students doing studies that are mostly of an independent nature, which is again, exactly what you have described.

  3. there r both good online schools are good if u can't get out much and meet other ppl on the school site but if u can then home schooling is better
