Homecoming theme ideas, please? (rock n' roll?)?

Hello, I'm trying to prove to my class that our homecoming theme should be rock n' roll. It's way better than the other theme option but in order to get my theme passed, I need to be able to present some ideas for a float and some good slogans. Thank you so much for the help!

omg like 50s rock and roll? i also had this idea for like a partybut everyone is so closed minded. well i really have no ideas for a float but for a party watch old 50s videolike grease to feel the vibe! and rockk on!!

Well, I did a float back in '82 on an MTV theme... we made a 10' tall and 30' long BOOM-BOX out of 2x4's and plywood to sit on top of a flat-bed truck.  We painted it with bright candy-apple red paint (it was the style back then), and put concert-speakers inside the "speakers" of the boom-box.

Our theme was " '82 will Rock You !!"... I'd need to know your year to work on a theme.  BUT, you COULD go with something along the line of "Music Unites"... then play a mix of music ?
