Homeland security threat advisory system?

Question

I was in the airport picking up my girlfriend, and I heard over the intercom "Homeland security has advised that the threat level of terrorist attack is orange", or some ish like that.

I couldn't help but burst out in jolly laughter. (causing all the victims of this fear manipulation to look at me awkwardly of course)

My question is, where do they get this garbage. What is it gauged on? How many people actually believe in this obvious and intentional distraction?

At least one other person sees through all this terrorisim, big brother will protect you c**p. Keep them scared and they'll do what you want. Funny that G.W.B. is now talking about a troop withdrawal timetable as the election time draws near.We are the terrorists in this world. We need to take care of our own and stop attacking anyone that doesn't agree with us.
