  1. The democrats and republicans want to bring in more mexicans to work at/for construction, trucking, loading docks, restaurant, car wash, landscaping, meat packing, mechanics etc jobs to add to their voter base and more money into someones pocket.  Some of these jobs used to pay $20 to $30 an hour to American workers but our politicians support illegal immigrants taking these jobs and working for a 1/3 of the money, under the table.   Somehow they believe that this helps American workers and makes more jobs available, thus helping reduce homelessness? Supporting illegal immigration has helped put low income people out of work (and a high percentage of minorities out of jobs) and has INCREASED homelessness.

  2. Large cities have supportive services for the homeless. Most cities do not have enough shelters.

The way to solve homelessness is to bring jobs back to America. Anybody could become homeless.

People can lose everything they own because of a huge hospital bill. They can be laid off suddenly and have no income. Unless, you are rich, it could happen to you.

Now we are supporting illegal immigrants but have no houses for the homeless. It is a sad situation.

Check with your state government to find out in what ways you can help the homeless.

  3. Drugs and alcohol abuse contribute to the homeless population as does a lack of skills stemming from a lack of education with which to find an adequate job.

Just like you can make schooling available to everybody, you can't make everybody want to attend and learn.  Likewise, you can create jobs but not all will want them.  You can create free housing and provide free food if you want but undoubtedly not all of the homeless will want it or many will find fault with it and it will not be to their liking.

Homelessness has its roots from a variety of sources.  No one answer will solve the problem.  From a humanitarian standpoint, it is worthwhile to help those who want help and will make good use of the help.  But for the uninspired and uninterested, there probably isn't much you can do.

  4. I know a couple people who are homeless because of drug addiction. They recieve some kind of dissabliity and live wherever. They are not forced to seek help. Some people have mental health issues and the places they could have gone are shut down. It's really sad anyway you look at it. Alot of people are just a paycheck away from it themselves.
