Question:

Homemade Fog Machine?

I have recently used glycerin and distilled water for my fog machine. I have an actual fog machine and just decided to make a homemade "fuel" for it. This took place in my barn. The next day we noticed everything in the barn was covered in a chalky type of substance (like if you were to take two erasers and clap them together). We do have a chalk board and chalk in the barn. Was this a problem from the fog machine mix or was it something else?

  1. Fog machines are sometimes used to specifically drop dust out of the air by weighing it down and making it clump together. With no guarantees, I'm guessing that you simply cleaned the air up in your barn by knocking the dust down.

  2. The problem is the glycol and water mixture you used was wrong for the amount of heating that takes place in your machine.
