  1. the greatest centerpiece idea i ever saw:

take an old cd, one you don't use, but that isn't scratched (all those free AOL cd's work nicely), and a votive candle and holder.  glue the holder to the center of the shiny side of the CD, and then glue some of the wedding flowers around the base. put the candle in and light it!  the cd acts like a mirror, it's REALLY cheap and easy, and they look great!

check out theknot.com for TONS o fideas!  but beware...you'll get addicted to the message boards!

  2. Go to:

    http://www.michaels.com/art/online/home

and look around there. They have great ideas. They also show you (online and in-stores) how to make things. Visit a store if one is nearby. Also, go to any of your local craft stores. They often have classes on how to do things yourself.

Visit your local arts or crafts shows to get ideas - you don't have to buy their stuff. I often go to shows and see things that I go home and make myself.

If you get stuck or want other stuff, you can always order from

    http://www.orientaltrading.com/

    Have fun and congratulations!

  3. Theknot.com is chocked full of resources!  Also try martha stewart's website.

I also found a ton of ideas on Flickr actually.  Just type in a search for something like "green wedding" or "autumn centerpiece".  You'll definately get some random stuff but some gems as well.

  4. At my wedding, I'm doing something I've not yet seen done, but here goes (tell me what you think) My theme is black and white so...

    Things you will need:

1 small glass bowl for each guest

Enough ribbon of black and white to go around each bowl

One black beta fish for every 2 guests

One white beta fish for every 2 guests

Enough white and black stones to litter the bottom of each bowl

    Spring water

Scatter one color of stones in the bottom of each bowl, being sure to alternate colors

Tie white ribbon around the bowls which you plan on putting the black fish in, and vice versa

    Add water

Put fish in bowl, being sure to alternate

Set one bowl in the center of each table

Be sure to set the rest of the fish near the table for the guests favors so that they may get a fish on the way out!

(this is what I'm going to do since my family doesn't care for candy and the like)

  5. I've seen some neat ideas from weddings I have been to, from magazines and online.

*Mason jars filled halfway with sand or river rock and tea lights inside.

    *Mason jars filled with flowers.

    *Twigs used as centerpieces/decorations.

    *Twinkle lights inside glass cylinders.

    *Fruit cornicopias. real fruit topiaries.

*River rocks with painted/stamped words/sayings scattered on tables and guests can take them home too! Sayings like "Faith, Love, Hope, Peace, Happy, Joy, Wonder." Etc.

  6. Try theknot.com, marthastewart.com, or google any of the following:

    do it yourself weddings

    diy centerpieces

    diy weddings

Also check out florists websites for ideas and do it all yourself for a fraction of the price!

    All the best :)

  7. Just google 'wedding decorations' or 'wedding centerpieces" and you will get TONS of hits....hit the image button and you can get pictures...that is the best way....then you can narrow down what you like.  Right click on it and copy and save it to a document as you find ideas you like, or copy the web address for reference later.

  8. Try www.monkeysee.com. They show you how to make favors, bouquets, and a-lot of other stuff. It is a really neat site.
