How do you build a homemade swing not a tire swing?

  1. Take a thick plank of wood and drill a hole the diamiter of the thick rope you wish to use.

    Make sure that there is at least 1 inch on all sides of the hole for maximum strength...

    String the rope through the holes and make a knot, leaving a few inches hanging from the end.

    Use a waterproof glue to coat the knot and allow to dry.

    Trim the hanging rope to smooth and apply more glue to the edge of the cut to seal and reduce the chance of a fray.

    Don't glue the knot to the wood.

    Get a metal fitting that is grooved so that the rope goes OVER the metal and is then secured with a crimp so that when you hang the swing, it won't wear the rope, it will be smooth metal that allows the swing to... well... swing.

    Make sure you have something on either side of the loop to prevent it from sliding closer together as the kid swings...

    1.Get a board of wood { flat wood }

    2.Get a good straight branch to put it on water proof glue

    3.You need Rope good rope that will hold and long

    4.Electric Drill

    5.Paint + paintbrush { optional }

    6.Cloth bigger than the wood { optional }

    ~ Instructions ~

    1.Drill 2 holes in the wood one on each side in the middle make 1 more next to each hole

    2.Get the ropes and put them in the holes take the now get the rope you put in the hole and put it in the one next to it

    3.Put it in the best tightest knot you can make or burn it so it willl stay or use water proof glue

    4.Tie the other sides of the rope on the tree

    Before you do any of the steps listed above paint the wood any color

    Use the cloth to prevent splinters glue it down
