I need someone to tell me or provide a link on how exactly to make tea at home. I have peppermint and rosemary that I can use to make tea. I just need a detailed, step-by-step, process on how to do it. I have a steeper, no bags.

I plan on growing much more soon but I can't quite piece together how to do it. Someone please provide a comprehensive descriptions for me.

  1. mix sugar water with c**p put it in the microwave stir it up and enjoy it is realy good

  2. I believe the correct word for this kind of beverage is a tisane or  infusion.  I make this kind of drink daily with all kinds of different leaves.  At the moment lemon verbena is my favourite.

It is very simple.  Put the required leaves into the cup or mug and just before the water is at a rolling boil, pour the water into the cup and let the leaves float and infuse until ready to drink.  With a spoon or fork, lift out the leaves and enjoy.

If I am making only drink I put the cup into the microwave and get the water to near boiling.  For more, I use a kettle with the right amount of water in it.

I do have a metal infuser with perforations in it which could be dangled into the cup instead with the leaves inside it - but there's no need to use it and so I don't!

The amount of leaves is entirely up to your taste.  The length of time you leave the leaves in is also up to you and your taste.

I do not add anything else, except some cold water, after a few minutes, if I'm in a hurry to drink it.

Experiment and have fun.   I sometimes use spices and herbs in the same way, just for variety.  So much better for you than caffeine.

  3. The amounts to put in you steeper are up to you. Try equal parts of each and just adjust for flavor. Use honey to sweeten; it's better for you and enhances herbal flavors, where sugar overpowers.

If you are looking for recipes which would be 'medically' useful to you as well, I recommend "Back to Eden" by Jethro Kloss.

There are some herbs and barks which should be boiled, as opposed to steeping. To dry your herbs, tie them in bundles and hang upside-down to retain their useful properties.

  4. Peppermint tea is awesome...I would be VERY wary of the rosemary though.  It can give you massive intenstinal distress if you consume too much of it.

    Gives you alot of information.

  6. Well, after you have the dried rosemary, peppermint, etc, all you need to do is add hot water.  The amount varies depending on how strong you like your tea.  I use my five cup coffeemaker with five tablespoons of tea, pop it in a filter and let the tea brew.

If you want to use the steeper for your tea, then follow the instructions on the website below.  Then, add cream and sugar as you like it.

    I hope that helps!
