Question:

Homeopathic fix for booboo on my elbow?

Please spare me the doctor speech.

About three weeks ago I fell and hit my elbow on a large rock. It bled like h**l, but didn’t really hurt, at the time. I did hurt for a few days after. The open wound is long gone and so is the bruising. My arm is functioning as it should. I use it a lot as I am a software developer.

Now it hurts a little, and appears to be filled with fluid. It does not hurt to touch it so long as I don’t apply pressure. Why is the liquid there? How long will it last? My friend hurt his wrist and the same thing happed, It took about two months for the fluid to go away. What can I do?

I don’t have health insurance until October.

  1. You can treat with a succession of self-help first-aid and acute care remedies. These are based on the book by Maesimund Panos, M.D. called Homeopathic Medicine at Home. Take one remedy at a time based on symptoms, shifting after a day if there is no response, otherwise continue according to vial directions. 30c is the potency most commonly available over-the-counter, yet any potency is fine, as it's secondary to the remedy correctly "indicated" at any given time.

Arnica attends to physical and emotional shock from injury. It's the one to start with, if bruising, swelling and/or soreness is or was part of the symptomtology (like what you describe).

Hypericum heals injured nerves and shooting pains.

Ruta heals the bone when the periosteum (bone covering) has been bruised, usually after everything else seems to have healed.

A 4th possibility (down the line a bit, I'd guess) is Rhus toxicodendron, if soreness and stiffness that is better with continued motion are the main "symptoms" and sensations.

Homeopathy will not only heal your residual injuries by the time your insurance kicks in - especially if you invest a little time in learning the basics - it will prevent long-term complications that often result down the line. Best wishes.

  2. No homeopath with respect for him/herself would answer this via internet. Too many questions to ask and observations to make.

If you really want a homeopathic remedy for this, you should in fact consult a homeopath.

You could try something a lot cheaper and probably just as effective: cabbage leaves.

Take the biggest ones, remove the hard stalk in the middle and place one or two around your elbow. Maintain with a gauze band or a very light cloth. Keep it day and night, changing it as necessary (when the leaf becomes too soft or if it dries out).

It may take a week or so but you'll be surprised at the extremely beneficial effect!

    All the best!

  3. I've used homeopathy for my kids and myself for more than 20 years. The first-aid remedies mentioned by the homeopath are ones we've used, plus one called Bryonia if motion makes it worse, and bandaging better.

It kinda turns my stomach how people use these posts to put others down  instead of focusing on helping you. I hope your "booboo" heals (from a mom, that's cute no matter how old the kid).

  4. It doesn't sound like there is an infection.  The liquid is serous fluid that has accumulated in a pocket at the site of the injury.  This is all normal, and nothing to worry about.  If the fluid is really bugging you, a doctor can drain it with a needle....but it will be reabsorded on  its own anyway

Homeopathy has absolutely nothing to offer for this, or any conditions.

Homeopathy is the archtype of quack medicine.
