Homeowner's Insurance Help Please?

i obtained home insurance w/allstate on 03-20-08 - I paid in full $587.00 for the year - i rec'd a letter from them stating needed 2 things done on the outside of the house. i had a guy working on my kitchen (the floor was sinking and he's currently working on it now). Once he was/is finished that, I was going to get someone else to fix what the insurance requested. here's my problem, on May 13th allstate sent me a letter stating they were going to cancel my policy on june 23, 2008 at 12pm if i did not get the two things done (which i intend to). i just thought inside fixing were more important. however this letter stated in one paragraph:

THE PROTECTION PROVIDED BY YOUR POLICY WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL THE CANCELLATION DATE AND TIME SHOWN ABOVE. HOWEVER, IN THE EVENT THAT ANY POLICY PREMIUMS ARE NOT PAID WHEN DUE, WE MAY CANCEL THE POLICY PRIOR TO THAT CANCELLATION DATE AND TIME.

so i checked my credit card and what they have done is put $378.87 back on my card.

  1. Call your agent.

They can confirm if your policy was canceled or not.

They can best advise you on what to do.

Apparently there was a condition on your property that the underwriting department did not like. Since the problem is not corrected - they canceled you.

Your agent should be able to call the underwriter and see if they can get you more time to get the problem corrected.
